Genuine Oreck vacuum cleaner Type CC bags in Laguna Niguel

Oreck Upright bags, good for most Oreck models
If you’re an Oreck vacuum owner, you’ll have a need for Oreck vacuum cleaner bags. At Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More in Laguna Niguel andTustin, we carry the entire line of Genuine Oreck products including Genuine Oreck vacuum cleaner Type CC bags.
When shopping for Oreck upright bags, keep in mind that vacuum cleaner bags are not created equal. All manufactures recommend using genuine bags with their vacuums and Oreck is no different. These bags are made specifically for a particular vacuum cleaner, to allow for better overall efficiency and cleaning.
When people buy “generic” bags thinking that they’re just as good but cheaper than the genuine product, they’re defeating the reasons for buying their vacuum cleaner in the first place. People generally don’t purchase a vacuum because they want a dirtier home or don’t mind breathing in all of the dirt they just picked up using their vacuum cleaner. So why buy a vacuum cleaner bag that doesn’t fit your vacuum cleaner perfectly in order to prevent particles being released back into the air or onto your floor?
When you buy genuine Oreck vacuum bags, as in case of the standard Oreck CCPK8DW bags, you get a fit that is better and a seal that does just that…..it seals the vacuum and deposits the dirt into the bag.
Oreck bags (CCPK8DW or know as Type CC) are designed with 3 layers to filter and trap dirt with a 630 cubic inch capacity. Under normal vacuuming conditions, our Oreck 8-pack of Type CC bags should last a year or more. They have what Oreck calls a Saniseal® automatic closing system that keeps dust in the bag. They are very easy to install and the best part is that they fit as they’re supposed to. They keep the dust in the bag, not in your face or back onto the area you just cleaned. Unlike the generic bags, they’re resistant to ripping.
These Oreck bags fit all ORECK vacuums produced from 1977 that are considered the Oreck XL® line of vacuums including the Classic, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Pilot, Deluxe, and XL21 models. They fit all 2000, 3000, 4000, 8000 and 9000 series of Oreck Vacuums.
If you’re in question as to which vacuum or series you have, just look at your serial number on the back side of your vacuum housing unit. Each serial number starts with a number and that will tell you which model you have. If you prefer, you can also call Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More at 949-831-6744 in Laguna Niguel or 714-505-0903 in our Tustin store and anyone who answers the phone will be happy to assist you. We can also tell you if you have any free tune-ups still available or when your warranty expires.

Mr. Sweeps Vacuums has a full line of Oreck vacuum products
Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More is a small, family-owned business with a fantastic team of people whose job and desire is to support our customers. When shopping with us, we pledge to serve you to the best of our ability, to offer excellent customer service and prices that are ALWAYS fair and often times lower than you will find elsewhere. If you have any vacuum questions regarding Oreck, Dyson, Miele or any other vacuum cleaners, please do not hesitate to call us.
Say goodbye to urine odors
Posted by Sheri Davis on Jul 24, 2012 in New Products, Reviews | 0 comments
Being a “Pet Friendly Retailer”, just about every pet owner that comes into Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More has a story to tell. Some are cute and sweet and make you smile and laugh. The one thing in common is they ask for solutions for pet urine issues in their homes. Some have cute little new puppies who think potty training means, pee at will. While others have elderly pets who love the feel of warm fuzzy carpets under their rear ends. Some get tummy aches and mess all over the house. Pets! We love them like crazy but we still need to deal with the “oops moments” that come along with pet ownership.
Others are caring for elderly parents or grandparents who have lost control of their bladder. It’s never an easy subject to talk about, but it is real and Urine-OFF® offers us hope of removing urine odors from our floors and homes.
As a retailer of healthy home cleaning solutions, Mr. Sweeps Vacuums is always trying to find products to fit our customer’s needs. We review, test and try a lot of products before bringing them into our stores. One such product is Urine-Off. The great thing about Urine-Off is that now we have a product that addresses a specific issue, “URINE smells”. Once in the carpets or on the hard floors, pets can continue to smell and use these same spots over and over again. Over a period of time, the smell can become unbearable for home owners and you also have health issues coming into play. Same goes for human urine. Once on the floors, the smell stays with us for a really long time.
The reason is that a substance in urine called Uric acid contains non-soluble salt crystals. While other components of urine can be cleaned and removed, these salt crystals are not that easy. Urine-OFF® is specifically designed for use on carpet, floors and sub-floors to eradicate the smells left behind by our pets and humans. Urine-OFF ®uses specialized enzymes and bacteria to break down the components of urine and Uric acid that cause odors as well as the proteins that host growth of unwanted microorganisms. IF you have pets, or are caring for someone with incontinence issues, you should have a quart or gallon of Urine-OFF on hand. It’s amazing because it really works.
The main factor to consider here is that while other products promise to rid the odors, most do not. Use Urine-OFF on hard floors, kennels, carpets and anywhere else you have an issue. It cleans and destroys odors and leaves a fresh clean smell that disappears when dry. Urine-OFF comes in gallon and quart sizes. It also comes in an injector bottle that you can push down into carpet to get into the pad to destroy the odors there as well. Urine-OFF also has Zorb it-up pads and sprinkle that allows you to Sprinkle down a powder and it turns liquid to a solid for easy pick-up.
This is a fantastic product and we’re glad that we now have it available in our stores and on-line. This is the best solution that we’ve found for urine smells that we’ve found!
7 things to know before buying a handheld canister
Posted by Sheri Davis on Jun 6, 2012 in Tips | 0 comments
At Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More we know, when shopping for canister vacuums, it’s important to know the difference between canister types. Knowing what your needs are before you shop will help you save money and get the right product for your home. When shopping for a handheld canister, keep these items in mind.
- Know the space you want to use it for (always think about future uses).
- Get the correct power for the types of jobs that you’ll need it for (getting a cordless canister to vacuum kitty litter is not going to work).
- Make sure that the cord length is suitable for your needs (retractable cord winders are great, if you like playing with sling shots, but not normally reliable).
- How often will you use it and consider dirt capacity (if you over fill the bag, it WILL stop working)
- What attachments are important to you? Don’t forget your ceiling heights, stairs and pet needs.
- Consider if anyone in your home has allergies? If so, make sure to buy a canister with a HEPA filter.
- Consider who will be doing the cleaning and make sure you get the one that meets that person’s needs. ( A 15-pound canister is not going to work for an 80-year-old woman)
With virtually hundreds to choose from, it helps to know that there are really only two main canister types. Keep in mind there are always exceptions to the rule, but generally two types. One classification is the “handheld” canister and the other is termed a “full size” canister. For the purposes of this blog, we will concentrate on the handheld canister for today and full size canisters tomorrow.
Handheld canisters are typically smaller in size, more compact, lightweight and are straight suction machines. Meaning, whatever you vacuum goes directly into the bag. This makes them great surface cleaners without the worry of getting something caught in the roller brush. Wheels are options on some, but not normally. In terms of power or suction rate, handheld canisters are less powerful than their full size counterparts, but some pack more punch than expected. This is improving all the time. The dirt capacity is smaller so you have to change the bag or clean the filter more often. A reasonable life expectancy for handheld canisters is about 1 to 3 years. They can last much longer depending on usage frequency and purpose. This type of canister is a great addition to any upright vacuum for cleaning. They’re designed to allow you to get to smaller spaces such as window blinds, curtains, window sills, door tracks, baseboards, upholstery, cars and the oh so dreaded stairs. Some come with an amazing array of tools, while others have only a couple.
Having less power, combined with smaller capacity and no roller brush to agitate carpet
fibers makes canister vacuums a less desirable candidate for main floor cleaning. Handhelds are great cleaning tools for someone looking for a more portable option and more suited for detailed cleaning. Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More offers the Oreck Ultimate handheld (OLD STYLE, known as the DB1200) which we highly recommend. It has a powerful suction rate, HEPA filter, shoulder strap, full array of attachments, such as wall brush, crevice tool, upholstery tool, extension wand to reach high places and a floor tool for getting under beds. And it works! More importantly, our customers love this canister. If looking for the convenience of a handheld canister, check out Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More. We have the right product for all your home cleaning needs. Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More services what we sell.
5 FACTS ABOUT GERMS on FLOORS
Posted by Sheri Davis on May 16, 2012 in Facts, Healthy Hints | 0 comments
Fact: The average household has an estimated 1,000 to 2,500 germs, bacteria and virus per square inch on hard floors. Floors; We walk on them, drop food on them, we have pets who rub butts on them, cats who use litter boxes and walk on them. We walk in public bathrooms, parking spaces, public stores and across grassy areas. All of these are place that may have been stepped in or on a pile of poop, vomit, pee, dead animals etc. We transfer these germs into our cars and homes, every single day.
Fact: There is no such thing as the 5 second rule, except in the mind of the person who’s ok eating off the floor. The second your food hits the floor, germs and bacteria attach on contact.
Fact: The average home has over 100,000 dust mites per square yard of carpet. It’s true, we have them. The best way to keep this number under control is to get a proper vacuum for your floor type and family needs. Then vacuum often.
Fact: Not ALL germs are bad germs. It is almost impossible to destroy all germs. With the right tools you can cut down and control, but not all germs are bad. We need to come in contact with
some germs to build tolerance in our bodies for them. But we do need to control the bad germs.
Fact: Your floors are only as clean as the tools you use to clean them with. This is so true! If you’re using a regular mop or sponge mop you could actually be putting MORE germs on your floors every time you use the mop.
At Mr. Sweeps Vacuums, we have the experience, the knowledge and the tools to help you get germs in your home under control. E-mail or tweet us, we’re here to help you and will lead you in the right direction and answer all your questions. Vacuum warranties – Buyers beware
Posted by Sheri Davis on May 8, 2012 in Tips, Vacuums | 0 comments
We’ve had a few comment postings on our Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More blog, regarding purchasing vacuums and other products from Craig’s List, E-Bay and other unverified or second hand sources. While these MAY be a great source for deals , BUYERS BEWARE that when you purchase from avenues such as these some products, especially vacuums, may not have warranties that will be honored by manufacturers or their authorized dealers
If you think that you’re saving money by buying second hand, think about what you’ll do when the machine breaks and you have no recourse. If you’re being told otherwise, you may be the victim of misinformation.
I mention vacuums specifically because this is what I know. I’m sure it applies to other products, but for the purpose of this blog, I refer to vacuums. In the case of Oreck, Miele, Riccar and particularly DYSON, name, address and phone number of the purchaser is recorded on the date of sale. If you need to have the vacuum serviced under warranty, you will be asked for the original receipt. If you don’t have it, the warranty service center will call the manufacturer and ask if the information has been recorded. If they are not able to find it under your name, they will ask where the vacuum was purchased. If they can’t match serial number/seller information, they’ll most likely deny warranty coverage on the product. **ALWAYS keep your vacuum receipts. **
Having the paper work that comes with the vacuum does not really protect you. You need the original receipt, with your name and the registration. In the case of DYSON, in order to get repairs covered under warranty you MUST call them first and they will send you to the closest store and fax the store an approval for your service. It is clearly in the instructions that come with your
new vacuums. Otherwise you pay for repairs.
The majority of service centers (if ethical) will require this information for their protection. If they service your vacuum and replace parts under warranty, the manufacturer requires us to obtain this information, PRIOR to service in order for US (the service establishment) to be paid. We don’t have it; we do not get paid for our time and parts. Not a good way to stay in business.
One of the reasons why small business owners like Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More, plus large manufacturers require proof of purchase is theft. If you’re buying a product, on-line from an unknown or less than reputable source, the chance that the product is stolen goods increases. Many service and repair service centers will post serial numbers of stolen goods for access by similar businesses, so that when one comes in for service, it can be confiscated and police contacted. If your product warranty has expired and you’re paying for the repair, this is not an issue.
So, is having a warranty worth the extra money? Absolutely!!! Regardless of what vacuum you have, at some point it could malfunction. You’ve spent your hard earned money on it. You can protect your investment by having that warranty, or you could just buy another vacuum which would cost you more than if you purchased one with a warranty to start with. The average bill to service a vacuum is about $100. Is it really worth taking this chance? And lastly, how do you know that this vacuum is not infested with fleas or has been used to vacuum germs and bacteria from someone else’s home? Not having a warranty is bad enough, but having someone else’s fleas is worse.
With all the deals Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More offers and that of other small business across the country, you can find a new vacuum or a refurbished one that has a warranty for a great discounted price. Mr. Sweeps Vacuums always carries some refurbished vacuums that have been sanitized and completely re-worked starting at $99. We also have close-out vacuums monthly. What value would you put on piece of mind? Buyers beware, don’t be taken. Readers: What experiences have you had with not having a warranty on a vacuum you purchased? If you have any questions, need more information or want to know about our specials, call us at 1-855-4 MrSweeps. or check out our website at www.MrSweepsVacuums.com. Until Next blog….

Frequent question that’s asked of us at Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More is : “This blog is very cool. How can I make one like this!” “It really is not that I want to duplicate your web web-site, but I definitely like the style. Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More Part 2
Posted by Sheri Davis on May 5, 2012 in About Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More | 0 comments
To continue as Part 2 of yesterday’s blog about us.
Every new item, brought into our store is reviewed by our team members, before a product is introduced to customers. The team takes new products home to test in real life situations. Also at least twice per year we close our stores (normally open 7 days a week) to have product training and customer service seminars. We meet prior to and after store hours to get extra training in so that we are kept up to date. Every new item or product comes with Training , either in the form of personal team training from the manufacturer, training materials, specs and/or DVD’s. Each company has done independent studies and research and provided us with this data, information and stats. This allows our team the ability to truly understand what the customer wants and needs and basically become educated in each of our products. We know how the product works, why it works and how it’s supposed to be used. When I quote statistics, it’s usually from product information sheets that we have studied , verified and researched. All of the products that I discuss in my blogs have been used by me personally.
When you step into one of our stores or call us, you’ll be greeted with a friendly smile and voice and receive a gracious welcome. Our entire team understands that the customer experience is the essential component of making our business successful. Providing a good product selection, great value and outstanding customer service is what brings our customers back. We’ve had customers drive an extra 20 miles to come to us when there was a closer alternative for them. We appreciate our customers business and we will do everything in our power to make our customers feel at home. Our honesty and integrity is never compromised. If our customers need a part we’ll recommend it; we’ll never try to sell them something that isn’t necessary for them to purchase. Our service is impeccable and timely and our products are the best we can find. The biggest asset of our company is our customers . When you shop at Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More, you’re not just getting a great product. You’re getting years of knowledge and experience that insure you’re purchasing the product that’s best for YOU. Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More part 1
Posted by Sheri Davis on May 4, 2012 in About Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More | 0 comments
Since starting our blog, we’ve had some great comments from a lot of people regarding our site. In order to have a better understanding of WHY I talk about WHAT I talk about, it is helpful to know where my information comes from. So, for this reason, I’d like to take a moment to let everyone know a little bit more about us as a company, our team and our experience. This is really what gives me the ability to talk about the items that I do.
Our stores have been in the same locations since 1996. We have a retail store in Tustin and Laguna Niguel, California. Over the next several months we will be looking for another site in or around Yorba Linda, CA. Our stores originally opened and operated as ORECK Clean Home Centers. Seven years ago, the stores were purchased by 3 business partners; Richard Goldstone, Steve Hurdle and Jon Davis. Jon has been the Managing Partner of the stores ever since. Jon works in the stores on a daily basis, is easily accessible to staff and customers alike. He tries to meet as many customers as possible in order to gain insight into how the stores can better meet the needs of its clientele.
Our team consists of sales associates and service technicians (“Techs”) . Each store has a Sales Manager and a Tech. In addition, there’s a Service Manager that oversees service quality control and training. ALL staff members are cross-trained to perform sales and service functions. Our team is extremely knowledgeable about the products we offer because we believe that EDUCATING our customers about products that fit their cleaning needs is more important than SELLING them anything we can just to make a buck.
Jon (my husband) and I travel to trade shows each year (normally about 3-6 times per year) to search for products that meet our quality standards and deliver value to our customers. What we look for are items that can enhance our customers experience when they come to our stores. Some of the products are just “fun” items such as SodaStream soda makers and Sportula’s, which are laser-etched wooden-handled spatulas with sports, family and military branch themes. Most items we look for are ones that allow customers to have a better, healthier home environment. These include products such as air purifiers, the finest cleaning vacuums on the market, floor machines, steam products and the best residential/institutional cleaning products to remove stains and clean homes from floors to ceilings.
Part 2 tomorrow: Until Next blog…
Carpet cleaner
Posted by Sheri Davis on May 3, 2012 in Healthy Hints, Reviews | 0 comments

Putzie
Most people, who know me, know I have a thing for clean floors. I’m not obsessive or crazy about it, but we have white Berber carpet, white tile and white couches. In addition to that we have 2 dogs, one being a white (see a pattern here?) golden retriever puppy who loves, loves, loves the pool. He also loves being wet from the pool and finding any mud puddle or dirt area to dig in.Once he’s done getting nice and sloppy muddy, he waits for the back door to open and bolts inside. Because he’s all excited and refreshed, he does this mad dash around the entire house. Needless to say we have a lot of activity in our home. Just as many as you may have in your as well. One of the hardest issues for us is trying to keep my carpets looking clean and fresh all the time, without the expense of professional carpet cleaning. We’d go broke if I hired a professional to clean my carpets every time I needed. In addition to the fact it is NOT good for your carpeting
The best, and I mean the BEST product we’ve found, for home carpet cleaning, is a product we carry at Mr. Sweeps Vacuums & More. It is the ORECK® Dry carpet shampoo and PreMist® spray. You vacuum your carpet, then spray a fine layer of Pre-Mist then sprinkle
the dry shampoo on the carpet. Either uses a scrub brush or what we call an Orbiter® machine to work the powder into the carpet. You want to really work it down into the pad so that it gets to all the dirt below the surface. Wait till it dries (about 45 minutes) and vacuum. Done. The amazing part about this is that you can use this product ANYTIME you need it. No waiting to call a professional. If you spill a glass of wine, puppy has an accident, your child drops the “Sippy” cup, you have a product that will clean the problem right then and there, plus your stains won’t sit or set. And, IF you simply want to freshen your carpets for guests, you have it.
The Pre-Mist acts to lightly open the fiber to allow the Dry shampoo to adhere. The dry shampoo comes in contact with the dirt/urine/spill, it and absorbs the particles. Once trapped in the dry shampoo it will not release it. As it dries the particles rise to the surface, dry and you vacuum up. This product is non-toxic, Hypo-allergenic, removes allergens, stains, dirt, grim and yes, Mud. Plus its long lasting, has a fresh clean scent and can be used often. Most importantly, it works! And no, the stain will not come back in two weeks, because you’ve removed the whole stain, not just the surface stain.
IF you’re looking to save money, consider buying an orbiter machine. We sell or rent them in our stores or you can purchase one from our website. The cost runs $200-$499 depending on new or refurbished and model (We normally have a special going for $100 OFF a new unit). The best part of having this machine is that it also scrubs grout lines, tile, wood, laminate, travertine, concrete, Spanish pavers, marble and just about any other type of floor surface. It will also strip, sand and polish wood or you can polish your natural stones with it as well. You just change out the pads, or brushes to use on different surface types. I use it as my daily mop. Spray cleaner, mop, throw dirty pad in the wash, done in less than 10 minutes. (no kidding) Honestly, in the years that we’ve been using this machine and selling this machine, I have never been disappointed and our customers love it. 70 % of our customers, who rent it, come back and buy it, while the others just come in and rent as needed. It’s the healthy way to clean carpets
If you need more information on how to clean, what products to use please visit our site. You can place an order on the site or call us directly at 1-855-4 Mrsweeps (1-855-467-7933). Our staff is always willing to assist you in anyway we can. Until next blog….
